Course Introduction
Pharmacy is the art and science of drug production that involves the preparation and formulation of drugs and also educating the public about medicine. Pharmacy is a health profession that connects the health sciences with the chemical sciences, and is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs.
According to the Malaysian Pharmacy Association, the ratio of pharmacists to patients in 2010 was 1:4700. This shows that the country still faces a shortage of pharmacy support staff in hospitals, clinics, and community health services. The Pharmacy Diploma at Geomatika University College aims to produce high quality pharmacy assistants to support the advancement of the pharmacy field in Malaysia.

- Passed with at least honors in three (3) subjects including Mathematics OR Science AND Passed Malay; OR
- Passed with “Maqbul” level; OR
- Passed with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in one (1) subject; OR
- Passed with at least Grade C in three (3) subjects including Mathematics OR Science; OR
- Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in three (3) subjects including Mathematics OR Science; OR
- Obtaining a Certificate (MQF level 3) in a related field by a PPT recognized by the Malaysian Government with at least a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
- Obtain a Certificate at a Vocational / Technical / Community College / SKM (level 3) in a related field AND Pass SPM with at least one (1) honors;
- Assistant Pharmacy Officer at a private or government hospital or clinic
- Clinical Research Assistant
- Marketing Officer (Medical / medical gap)
- Research and Development Laboratory Assistant
